porcupines in the snow make for a great breakfast

a dissertation on existence

be a better human.

tell your friends and family you love them.

please.

they’ll be happy.
you’ll be happy.

win-win-win-win-win scenario for infinity.

we don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow, so be loving, kind, and care for those around you.

1 story

snowflakes nipped at my nose as i trodded, foot in front of the other, splashing and splishing the snow onto the cuffs of my sweatpants and soles of my boots.

a dark haze filled the sky, a peep of light hung in the air, yet there i was, plodding and plashing through the slush.

it felt odd being out there.

but odd is no stranger to me.

every now and then cars passed by. i wonder what those drivers thought of that imbecile in teal sweatpants, a green puffer, swaying back and forth, triumphantly leaning into his gait.

even the boy wondered. but he continued on. he was on a mission. and no one stops a man on a mission.

in that boy’s mind, there were thoughts. well, of course there were thoughts. there are thoughts in everyone’s mind. but in his mind, the thoughts were calm, serene, and like a lovely beach, waves lapping up on shores, pulling grains of sand into the sea as it left crabs and cuttlefish shored.

the boy thought of crabs. wondered why crabs walk sideways. do they walk sideways? he didn’t know. in all the movies he’d seen, they walk sideways. but do they actually?

ah the movies. the boy liked the movies. but they’re fantasy. fiction. fake.

he wasn’t interested in fake. he wanted to know. to know the real.

And the boy found it.

He found it as he stared at his boots.

He found it as he hunched his shoulders and looked away from the snow.

He found it in the squirrels burying nuts in the ground.

Because Truth isn’t something that is found elsewhere. Truth isn’t found in the words of the world. It’s found in the being. The seeing. The experiencing.

The living.

So the boy lived. He stopped thinking so much, let the beach fade away, and decided to be in the blizzard. For the boy, a blizzard was fun.
