- Perfectionism is Procrastination disguised in Prestige.
Perfectionism is Procrastination disguised in Prestige.
My mantra this week:
Perfectionism is merely Procrastination disguised in Prestige.
As a content creator, I find myself procrastinating a lot. And oftentimes its dressed up in Perfectionism.
“I won’t start shooting this video until I’ve got the PERFECT daylight or sunset.”
“I won’t start writing this article until I spend more time researching for 50 more hours!”
“I won’t start making designs until I learn the fundamentals and basic tools.”
I was waiting for the perfect time to start.
And it never came.
There is no perfect time. There is no reason to wait longer. Start posting.
Perfectionism is socially acceptable.
Procrastination is a lot.
The more you say “I’m a perfectionist, so that’s why I can’t do X or I won’t do Y”, the more time you’re spending living a life you’re probably not happy with.
Stop waiting.
Start doing.
🎙️Pod of the Week - 23 Controversial Truths About Life with Alex Hormozi and Chris Williamson, Modern Wisdom EP 670
Wow, wow, wow, WOW.
This pod was fucking amazing. Seriously. So many great insights regarding business, self-development, relationships, mindset, and much much more. I’m only an hour and a half into this pod and I’ve already got a LONG list of notes - this is truly something spectacular.
🎼 Song of the Week - Jungle Jazz by Kool and the Gang
Lil bit of Jazz-funk fusion to spice up your week. This tune is spectacular - if you want to elevate it, smoke a J, drink a beer, or just do some meditation beforehand. enjoy
📺 What I’m Watching - Why This Artists Kept Painting the Apocalypse
I love John Martin. An English painter who kept painting the apocalypse over, and over, and over again may seem a little odd, but trust me, once you see his work, it’s hard not to love his dramatic, incredibly detailed style.
Seriously an amazing video, seriously an amazing painter.
Here’s one of my favs by Martin.
Seventh Plague of Egypt by John Marin
💡 A Quote to Ponder -
“No matter what tools you use to create, the true instrument is you. And through you, the universe that surrounds us all comes into focus” - Rick Rubin
The Barbie movie was truly something special. I loved it. AND I MEAN I LOVED IT.
I went in with very low expectations and was thoroughly surprised.
THANK you for reading, you’re the best, and I love you oh so dearly.
