1 reflection
getting out of the game is a game in itself.
im here in sf.
at an event called buildspace.
basically a bunch of nerds who code or make youtube videos or produce music or build robots or whatever they do get together, meet each other, and shit on 9-5s.
ive noticed a lot of people say “ah man im done with all the corporate world bullshit, of who works where and who knows who blah blah blah.”
and those will be the same mfs that 10 minutes later are sucking someone’s dick because they heard that this guy knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a junior analyst at a Venture Capital firm.
what.
really?
it’s interesting how so many people attempt to leave the game of the “safe path” - of getting a 9-5 job and living out life in a small suburban town - yet they get in the game of twitter likes and YC founder replies and shit like that.
if none of this makes sense to you, great.
if any of this makes sense to you, even greater.
but all im saying is that leaving one game to enter another still means you’re conforming to the rules set around you by others.
you’re not free. simply joining in another’s arena.
so my friend - what game are you playing?
and what game are you leaving to join another?
i think im playing the game of complaining about people playing games in order to look cool for my tiny little insignificant ego that needs love and recognition from the outside world to even have a shred of a chance at functioning.
