Curiosity is a Curse

My mantra this week:

Focus. Focus. Focus.

Curiosity is a curse.

And a blessing.

Pros: I don’t have to feel super motivated to learn about something.

Cons: I like a lot of things.

Why is that bad? Why do I say curiosity is both a curse and a blessing?

Well, it’s because of something called Shiny Object Syndrome. I’m easily distracted by anything that piques my curiosity. And a LOT does.

Here’s scratching the surface of the Topics I’ve watched videos, read newsletters, read books, etc on in the past week.

Evolution, Writing, Entrepreneurship, Sales, Graphic Design, Video Game Design, Ancient History, Greek Culture, Stoicism, Buddhism, Spirituality, Macroeconomics, Self-Development, Marketing Trends, Existentialism, Creativity.

And that’s probably half? maybe two thirds of the topics I’ve read up on.

Yeah.

So how do I manage this?

Focus on a few topics.

And narrow them down.

Remember, less is more.

Focus on a few and make meaningful progress in those pursuits.

Yeah - i don’t know the name of the artist of this song.

But it’s amazing.

It’s like playing Roulette with your ears.

📺 What I’m Watching - Studio Ghibli and the Atomic Bomb

I didn’t realize how destructive WWII was for Japan.

This REALLY changed my mind.

I love Studio Ghibli. The studio is whimsical, cute, and is the Japanese equivalent of Disney.

But WOW is there underlying darkness that I didn’t know existed. Enjoy
