taking care of others.

if you know me, which of course you do if you’re reading this, then you know of my hosting aptitude.

i love hosting get-togethers/parties.

there’s something exciting about your house being raided by dozens of identical white sneakers.

something enthralling about your tabletops and counters being occupied by elbows and red solo cups.

something beautiful about the chatter of a good party, the drawling conversations and winces when someone takes a shot.

and if you’re me, the thing you love the most is seeing others comfortable in a space you love.

i think that’s the reward.

i’ve been concerned about affection and love. i really do seek it. i think that’s why fame is so exciting to me. fame is a sort of amorphous “general” love towards someone. that’s why my ego wants to be famous. to be loved.

i know that fame isn’t the quality of love that would soothe my soul. but nonetheless, i trek on, yearning for love and affection from an amorphous blob of people.

back to hosting.

whether it’s cooking a meal for someone else, throwing a party, or simply pouring a glass of wine for another as they yap on about a story - i live for these moments.

these moments of take care of others.

something deep in my biology gets all warm and fuzzy when i do so.

perhaps it’s some dormant paternal instinct that’ll get unleashed as soon as a mini-armaan pops into the world, but for now, that taking care of others is just so satisfying.

no takeaway here. no lesson or wisdom.

just do this.

next time you hug someone you love, squeeze ‘em a bit tighter.

don’t choke ‘em.

but show your affection.

love you.

share this with a friend if you enjoyed it.

just send them this link.

appreciation

shoutout to maximise.

THANK you for reading, you’re the best, and I love you oh so dearly.
